When did the impact of COVID-19 first occur to you? How did your reaction to COVID-19 change between then and the first case in your town?
On March 12, 2020 when my job became virtual, I was unable to travel for work, and I moved my office to my dining room table.
How is your life different now than it was before the pandemic?
Many: *not going into Ithaca every day for work *not leaving the house, sometimes for days *started doing puzzles and having an active puzzle table in the house *our son came and worked from home for 3 moths *retirement seems sooner then excepted *realize how important people are in my life, since not seeing anyone except my husband on a regular basis
How are you feeling? What are you doing to relieve stress?
ups and down, walking on the new trails in Aurora and starting Tai Chi, is my stress relief, or stretching and yoga
What have you noticed has changed in your community since the outbreak? What has surprised you?
I am more aware of the community and what is happening.
Are you working from home? What adjustments or challenges are you experiencing?
Yes, my husband and I work from home. I am still on the dining room table and have been for 10 months now. Challenge because it is hard to get work done some days, making sourdough bread seems more fun some days
Did you have to postpone any major life events? (e.g. Graduation, wedding, major birthday) What did you do instead?
European vacation was cancelled, and weekly dinners out with friends is no longer an option.
Do you have animals? Did you adopt a pet? How have they impacted your day?
I have a cat, who has been ill since March 2020. Being home has been good, since she needs care every day
How do you think this pandemic will change how we behave going forward? What will the “new normal” look like?
Trying not to do everything.
